Michael Buchanan, Information Digital Technology Vendor Manager, Sydney’s Northern Beaches Council – and ADIA founding member

Michael Buchanan. B.E. (Hons), M.Eng.Sc (Res), is a Procurement and Commercial Leader with over 15 years experience across all sizes of organisation and most industries. He Initially ran development teams for Electronic Toll Systems, and telecommunications physical hardware. His fascination with the dark art of commercialising Technology grew into commercial capability and experience across all Technology sub-categories. The challenge of delivering Social, Sustainable and Circular to organisations’ commercial & procurement has become a passion of his, particularly when it involves innovation in traditional areas such as procurement of carbon credits produced by Indigenous land management practices.

His passion has now extended into volunteering support for Digital Inclusion with the Australian Digital Inclusion Alliance and Sustainable Technology by supporting “Organisations for Sustainable Circular IT” (part of the eWaste Watch Institute)

After living in several Australian states, Michael and his wife Renae now reside on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, actively supporting their teenage children’s interests and goals.
